COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Residents in Shannon Hills continued recovery after severe storms brought down trees and power lines and caused historic flooding early Saturday morning. Mayor Mike Kemp said the damage was the worst since 1978—30 residents were rescued, and the city awaits further aid from FEMA.  ABC7

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Tuesday, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed 28 new bills into law that include education measures—such as requiring colleges to report gifts from foreign entities and pausing public school ratings for select years. One bill also changes social studies standards to include the founding fathers’ religious views for grades six to 12, affecting schools statewide.  ABC7
