- ➤ A state Senate committee approved House Bill 1917 on Thursday that would let universities pay student athletes using revenue from media rights, ticket sales and sponsorships—this move follows a $2.8 billion federal antitrust suit settlement and now awaits full Senate and Gov. Sanders’ approval to take effect as soon as July 1 if Judge Wilken gives final approval. Arkansas Times

- ➤ Cabot Creamery has voluntarily recalled over 1,700 lbs of its 8oz Extra Creamy Premium Butter—Sea Salted due to elevated levels of coliform bacteria; the recalled butter, which was distributed in Arkansas and several other states, has not been linked to any reported illnesses. THV 11
- ➤ A second measles case was confirmed by ADH in an unvaccinated Faulkner County resident seen at Arkansas Pediatrics in Conway on April 7 between 9:10 and 11:25 a.m. and who later visited Arkansas Children's Emergency Department on April 9 between 1:15 and 8:40 p.m.; those present at these times are advised to watch for symptoms over the next 21 days and contact a health care provider if they feel sick.
