- ➤ Arkansas lawmakers will debate a balanced state budget, extra funds for correctional facilities, and proposed constitutional amendments this week and will finish most work tomorrow before a recess—wrapping up the 95th General Assembly session. The chamber plans a three-day work week to complete these tasks before formally ending the session. Arkansas Times
- ➤ House Bill 1878 passed in committee today — introduced by Representative Jessie McGruder, it will require county election boards to offer early voting sites in cities with 15,000 or more residents and is expected on the house floor later today. ABC7
- ➤ State lawmaker Stephen Meeks from Greenbrier got his Arkansas Nighttime Environment Protection Act passed in the House with 60 votes Monday—he has worked for 15 years to cut light pollution by limiting public lighting while allowing exceptions for key uses, a measure aimed at saving money, protecting health and boosting rural tourism. The bill now goes to the Senate for review before the legislature adjourns on Wednesday. Arkansas Times
