- ➤ Rachel Shaw, Executive Director for Visit Conway, said the town’s visitor economy is driven by youth sports such as baseball and softball—boosted by the new Conway Soccer Complex—and by cycling events that bring in competitive teams. She added Visit Conway will use funds from the A and P Commission to support local events and invest in parks infrastructure that attracts more visitors. Pulse of Conway

- ➤ Today, Lyon College announced that Arkansas Animal Rescue Foundation donated $11M to create the Katharine Reese Shelter Medicine and Animal Welfare Program at its new veterinary school in Cabot — the gift will fund an endowed professorship, additional faculty positions, scholarships, new classrooms and labs and a mobile veterinary unit to support a program that will admit its first class in 2026. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Arkansas reported three measles cases among pediatric patients in Saline and Faulkner counties—community spread has not been indicated, and the Department of Health has activated its contact tracing system. The agency advises watching for fever, cough, red eyes, rash and runny nose and reminds residents that the MMR vaccine is 97% effective with two doses. ABC7

- ➤ During the first quarter of 2025, Conway saw home permits rise by 42.86 percent to 202540 and home sales increase by 20 percent to 144 with sales of $39.643 million and a median price of $231350, while Faulkner County sold 31120 homes, had home sales drop by 3.97 percent to $85.413 million and a median price fall by 4.96 percent to $235215. The CARMLS report shows mixed trends in our local market—Conway recorded strong permit and sales gains even as median prices fell in both areas. Pulse of Conway
