Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 1st of May.
Good morning, Conway.
Officials in Conway are preparing the 38th Annual Toad Suck Daze to host around 100,000 people with enhanced safety measures after two shootings recently injured a student and killed two people.
The festival begins Friday May 2 and ends Sunday May 4 with steps like concrete and water-loaded barricades—designed to keep pedestrians safe.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission advised residents on Wednesday not to shelter wild baby animals they believe are abandoned, warning that taking animals like fawns and rabbits can lead to legal issues — since these young animals are left alone by their mothers as a natural survival strategy. The group stressed that interference may cause harm to the animals and create risks for those trying to help them.
Some of the head Hogs will travel across Arkansas for the 2025 Razorback Roadshow from May 12 to May 15—this four-day tour includes an event at Rouge Roundabout in Conway on May 15 where fans can enjoy food, drinks and win prizes.
Tickets for the Conway evening event cost $15—doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the program begins at 6:00 p.m.
