- ➤ The Arkansas State Police asked for public help after a 58-year-old motorcyclist from Morrilton was shot on Interstate 40 in Conway County on May 13 at 9:46 p.m. (the victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover). ABC7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, Conway voters elected three Black progressive candidates to replace the long-held conservative school board majority—an outcome fueled by controversy over a closed session that voted down head coach Sara Flenor. One winning candidate said the board may reconsider the decision on her hiring. Arkansas Times
- ➤ The American Civil Liberties Union of Arkansas asked to join two local coalitions in a lawsuit challenging five new laws that change how citizens gather signatures for ballot initiatives—laws that include a machine-generated reading test and restrictions on canvassers.
