CRIME NEWS

  • On Wednesday morning, a 23-year-old man from Memphis wanted for armed robberies in Conway and Damascus died after crashing during a high-speed chase with Arkansas State Police on U.S. Highway 65 at 7:45 a.m. — officials confirmed that no officers were injured.  ABC7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Sanders named Janet Mann as the new DHS Secretary in a press release Wednesday morning—Mann is the current DHS Deputy Secretary of Programs and Medicaid Director and will take the role as Kristi Putnam departs on Jul 25.  ABC7
  • A new Arkansas law—Act 624—is sparking a legal fight over who can own and run pharmacies, and it has raised questions about whether CVS might close. No official plan to shut down any locations has been announced as the legal battle continues.  THV 11
