CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Conway police arrested 47-year-old Li Fang, a Michigan woman, for possessing 173 one-pound packages of marijuana during a traffic stop on I-40 at 11:21 p.m. on June 22—she has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. THV 11
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Governor Sanders announced today that over 4,200 educators will receive up to $10,000 bonuses through the LEARNS Merit Teacher Incentive Fund Program — the bonus program aims to reward teacher performance statewide. THV 11
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Arkansas can enforce Act 629 banning the sale of hemp-derived THC products. The court reversed a lower court order and removed Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Attorney General Tim Griffin from the suit based on sovereign immunity—sending the case back to the Western District of Arkansas for further proceedings. Arkansas Times
