  • Bryant High School in Saline County will hold the 9/11 Memorial Stairclimb on September 20 to remember those who died on 9/11 as people walk 110 flights of stairs and get a card with a firefighter's name. Local leaders will join the event—meant to teach and bring hope.  ABC7

CULTURE NEWS

  • Ron Robinson Theater will show 19 films in September including After Hours, Se7en, and Men in Black on various dates with most screenings priced at $5 and select events costing $10 or $8 — refreshments will be sold on site.  Arkansas Times

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Arvest Bank presented new economic data for Faulkner County and Conway. The report shows that Conway’s labor force was 37,851 with a 3.9% unemployment rate in April while July total sales dropped to $1.326 billion — restaurant sales increased to $183.742 million and hotel receipts fell to $13.595 million.  Pulse of Conway

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The UCA Aviation Academy held a grand opening for its Bill Cope Memorial Hangar at Conway Municipal Airport last Friday, offering new classrooms and flight simulators that enhance pilot training. The project received $750,000 from the state and a lead donation from Simmons Bank—supporting efforts to meet the growing need for professional pilots.  ABC7
