COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Junior Auxiliary of Saline County will host its free annual Great Pumpkin Pageant on October 11 at Bryant High School Auditorium, inviting special needs children (grades K-12) to participate in the event with costumes and receive a crown and sash. Channel 7's Kaelin Clay will serve as the emcee for the pageant.  ABC7

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Construction for Braum’s on Prince Street near the high school in Conway will begin in November and take about 6 months after officials resolved traffic and location issues—city planners approved the project on January 23. Braum’s will open in 2026 as the city continues to work on safe access around the nearby roundabout.  The Echo

  • The Conway Symphony Orchestra invites local residents to join a free outdoor concert under the stars in a Conway park to kick off autumn.  Log Cabin Democrat

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Central Baptist Church on Dave Ward Drive hosted Conway Baptist Collegiate Ministry's first service on Aug. 25 after the ministry moved from Harlan Park Church to get more room—420 college students attended and campus minister Thomas Guinee said the new space better meets the group's needs.  The Echo
  • UCA’s Aviation Academy opened the Bill Cope Memorial Hangar on Aug. 22nd, which honors the former Simmons Bank pilot and supports pilot training. Simmons Bank led the donor-funded project—reflecting Cope’s generous spirit—and state officials along with community leaders further enhanced its flight training facilities.  The Echo
  • School leaders in Arkansas are discussing how Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA has played a major role in shaping conservative politics on local campuses — a debate that could influence future academic policies.  THV 11

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • In June 2025, a Westlake Apartments tenant reported a bathroom leak that led to recurring mold issues, while residents at Fox Run and Salem Park reported persistent roach infestations and deteriorating repairs by Lindsay Management.
