- ➤ Comedian Kevin Nealon will perform at Reynolds Performance Hall (on the University of Central Arkansas campus) at 7 p.m. on Dec. 14 (local fans are encouraged to attend his tour stop in Conway). Log Cabin Democrat
- ➤ The Hendrix College Choir and the Methodist Foundation for Arkansas will host the 2025 Candlelight Carol Service from Dec. 4—6 at 7:30 p.m. and on Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. at Hendrix College. Log Cabin Democrat
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Economists are monitoring the job market amid layoffs and a government shutdown. Dr. Jeremy Horpedahl from the University of Central Arkansas said that younger men face rising unemployment — he estimated a 40-50% chance of a recession next year. ABC7

- ➤ A local realtor warned buyers against a proposed 50 year mortgage during an online discussion comparing it to the common 30 year plan. He cautioned that the longer period might bring added risks and urged a careful review of mortgage options. THV 11
