CRIME NEWS

  • The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said a copper theft in July now forces duck hunters in Conway County to choose alternate spots — as security issues remain unresolved — which threatens this season's hunting opportunities.  THV 11

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Beebe students organized a parade to support a classmate preparing for her second double lung transplant—this event showed the school coming together ahead of her surgery.  THV 11
  • Junior Ana Brandon was crowned Miss UCA 2026 after competing for three years and winning key awards. The journalism major sang Climb Every Mountain—she said she will work with local libraries to expand arts access.  The Echo
  • At the Student Government Association meeting, Jacob Christie announced that free tutoring and success coaching will be available during finals week for subjects like STEM and math with group studies set for December 4. The meeting also rejected an $8,256 funding request for a conference, discussed a proposal to recognize men's mental health month, and elected Senator Abigail Wells as Senator of the Month — a decision celebrated after the session.  The Echo

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Conway City Council approved a new entertainment district in Hendrix Village on Nov. 11 to add dining, fine arts and event spaces in a central green space off Harkrider Street. Hendrix officials said the district will operate from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily—sales of alcohol will end at 10:00 p.m. and local police, with extra security for large events, will maintain order.  The Echo

  • Starting this holiday season, Motley's Christmas Tree Farm will welcome families who choose real trees over artificial ones—fostering a trend toward traditional holiday decor.  THV 11
